As we celebrate 50 years of Ocean Village, we’ve been reflecting on the simple things that bring people together; the traditions, memories, and little acts of connection that never go out of style.
Our latest obsession: snail mail! It all starts with picking out the perfect postcard to send to someone you love; a little snapshot of a place that captured your heart and that you want to share. You’d scribble a few words on the back, lick a stamp (a taste none of us seem to have forgotten), smooth it onto the postcard, and send it off into the world. There was something magical about knowing that little piece of mail would travel hundreds or even thousands of miles before finally arriving in someone’s mailbox weeks later, carrying with it a story, a memory, and a reminder that someone was thinking of them.
As we sift through 50 years of Ocean Village nostalgia, we’re looking to revive a little of that old-fashioned magic. So dust off your stationery, pick out a postcard, and send us a note.
