Our Resort
Built By Our Family, For Yours to Enjoy
It was a groovy time in ‘76 when Tofino’s own Hellesen family built their signature “beehive” cedar cabins for future generations to come together and enjoy. The original structures were updated in 2009 when the Gordon’s, Brown’s and Nelson’s reimagined the resort with an eye for sustainability and a desire to reduce our impact on the planet. Today, Ocean Village is proud to be a registered Ocean Friendly Business, staying true to our laidback and heartfelt coastal roots. With a bounty of modern amenities to enjoy, our resort remains an affordable return destination for families all over the globe.
Meet Our Team
It Takes a Village
It’s a family affair at Ocean Village. Everyone from our owners to our dogs can be regularly spotted roaming the property—usually on their way to the beach. We know our guests by name, and want you to feel like you’re at home here (without the responsibilities or schedule, of course). Our friendly team will always take the time to ensure your stay exceeds expectations, from booking surf lessons to providing wood bundles for your own beachside bonfire (acoustic guitar not included).
Our Community Involvement
Supporting Our Land and Community
As Tofino’s original beachfront resort, we remain active in our vibrant coastal community through regular events and sponsorships. We take part in seasonal fundraising efforts across Tofino and regularly donate to the following local organizations: Coastal Animal Rescue and Education Network, The Wickaninnish Community School, Tofino General Hospital Foundation, and The Village Green Playground Update Project. What we’re most proud of at Ocean Village is our commitment to reducing our environmental footprint in every aspect of how our resort operates—from our on-demand hot water system to our extensive recycling program.
