Our Resort
Built By Our Family, For Yours to Enjoy
It was a groovy time in ‘76 when Tofino’s own Hellesen family built their signature “beehive” cedar cabins for future generations to come together and enjoy. Today, Ocean Village is proudly family-owned and operated, guided by a deep commitment to family values, sustainability, and long-term care of the land and shoreline. Over the years, the resort has evolved with intention, staying true to its laid back coastal roots. Now a registered Ocean Friendly Business, Ocean Village offers modern comforts in a relaxed beachfront setting – continuing a tradition of meaningful, affordable stays that families from around the world return to, generation after generation.
Meet Our Team
It Takes a Village
It’s a family affair at Ocean Village. Everyone from our owners to our dogs can be regularly spotted roaming the property—usually on their way to the beach. We know our guests by name, and want you to feel like you’re at home here (without the responsibilities or schedule, of course). Our friendly team will always take the time to ensure your stay exceeds expectations, from booking surf lessons to providing wood bundles for your own beachside bonfire (acoustic guitar not included).

Our Community Involvement
Supporting Our Land and Community
As Tofino’s original beachfront resort, we remain active in our vibrant coastal community through regular events and sponsorships. We take part in seasonal fundraising efforts across Tofino and regularly donate to the following local organizations: Coastal Animal Rescue and Education Network, The Wickaninnish Community School, Tofino General Hospital Foundation, and The Village Green Playground Update Project. What we’re most proud of at Ocean Village is our commitment to reducing our environmental footprint in every aspect of how our resort operates—from our on-demand hot water system to our extensive recycling program.
